Setting - Happened on July 4th in the city with a parade of people.

Theme - Tradition, Religion, Beliefs and Faith.

Plot :
Complication - When Alih decided to become a merchants.

Conflict - When Alih did not want to kill but the fear he had for his brother whole he was growinh urged him to the killings.

Rising Action - He saw a float with a girl whom he thought of as Fermina.

Falling Action - Alih kill his Brother.

Literary Approach- Historical Approach.

Summary Text - Alih moved along the crowd which was celebrating the fourth of july celebration. His father was occured of killing a man that he did not kill. The Americans wanted him to submit to the judgement of the Americans Omar and Alih sold their house , boats fishing net and their mother pearls.
