The White Horse Of Alih

*Setting- the story happened on July 4th the big American holiday that the town celebrated with a huge parade followed by cockfighting, pony racing, hog catching, pole climbing and dancing in the streets.
*Characters- Alih (a moro that was in love with Fermina)
Fermina (a beautiful bar maid with a black mole near her mouth)
Lucy (childhood crush of Alih)
Omar (brother of Alih. The man that plans to kill all the people in the town and to be killed)
*Plot- Alih and Omar devise a plan to redeem their shame by killing someone
*Conflict- Alih and Omar want redemption for the dishonor upon them.
*Complication- when they decided to become merchants there were rebels who stole their commodities.
*Rising Action- he saw a float with a girl whom he thought of Fermina. He assisted the girl to go down to the ground. He found out that it is Fermina because he saw the black hole on the girl's mouth.
*Climax- he was about to hold her completely. Omar was drunk because he drink tuba. Omar was about to kill Fermina.
*Falling Action- Alih kills his brother to protect Fermina.
*Theme- tells about tradition, faith of the Filipinos and beliefs.
*Literary Approach- Historical Approach
*Summary of Text- the story started of as Alih moved along the crowd which was celebrating the 4th of July. The story then went on concentrating on the actions and what the characters are thinking before their planned killing people. The Americans wanted him to submit to the judgement of the Americans. They then worked for Lim Ching which was a Chinese merchant. After the consumed all their stock of food and water Omar began to thinking of killing and dying. Alih saw a girl which resembled his friend that he rode with in the carousel. They confirmed that the girl is Fermina. Omar try to kill Fermina but Alih protect her and Alih killed his brother Omar.
